Divemaster

Who should take this course?

Love scuba diving? Want to share it with others on a whole new level? Take the PADI Divemaster course and do what you love to do as a career.

To sign up for a PADI Divemaster Course:

  • you must be a PADI Rescue Diver (or a qualifying certification from another diver training organisation)
  • have completed an Emergency First Response Primary and Secondary Care course within the last 24 months
  • have a medical statement signed by a physician within the last 12 months
  • have at least 40 logged dives

What will you learn?

Through Knowledge development sessions, water- skills exercises, workshops and hands-on practical assessments, you develop the skills to organize and direct a variety of scuba diving activities. Topics and practical workshops include:

  • role & characteristics of the PADI Divemaster
  • diver safety and risk management
  • PADI Divemaster conducted programs and specialized skills
  • business of diving and your career
  • awareness of the dive environment, dive setup, management & conducting dive briefings
  • mapping an open water site
  • organizing a search & recovery and a deep dive
  • assisting with Discover Scuba Diving & Leading Discover Local Diving programs
  • conducting a ReActivateTM program or skin diver course
  • supervising dive activities & assisting with students
